Dr. Hiba AlHumaidan is a clinical pathologist with a subspecialty in Transfusion Medicine and Blood Banking. She currently works as a consultant pathologist overseeing hospital blood bank/ transfusion services and molecular pathology at Sheikh Khalifa Medical City (SKMC) in Abu Dhabi.
She holds a medical degree from the Royal College of surgeons in Ireland. Following her medical degree, she worked in multiple specialties in medicine and surgery prior to moving to the USA to seek out a residency program. She joined a clinical pathology residency program at Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University in Rhode Island and obtained the American board in clinical pathology. Subsequently, she joined a fellowship program in transfusion medicine and blood banking at Yale University School of medicine in Connecticut and obtained the American board in transfusion medicine and blood banking.
During her years in the USA, she had multiple publications in the transfusion medicine field, in addition to editing the transfusion medicine chapter in the oxford book of medicine (online edition).
